Contract Length:

Six months with the possibility of extension CTG is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support our long-standing Fortune 500 client's Advanced Optics manufacturing facility in Fairport, NY. The Technical Writer will create and improve technical documentation used by manufacturing and engineering teams. The ideal candidate has experience translating complex technical processes into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. Key Responsibilities Develop and improve work instructions, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and job aids Collaborate with engineers, subject-matter experts, and operations teams to gather and verify technical information Research and analyze information from multiple sources to create comprehensive documentation Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards Manage documentation projects by planning, scheduling, and tracking progress Ensure assigned documentation is completed according to established deadlines and quality requirements Work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Engineering, Science, or a related field At least three years of professional technical writing experience Experience developing work instructions, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, job aids, or similar technical documentation Ability to understand and clearly document technical or operational processes Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, research, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing deadlines Ability to work onsite in Fairport, NY, Monday through Friday Preferred Qualifications Technical writing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment Experience using PTC Windchill Knowledge of optics or advanced manufacturing processes Interview Process First interview conducted virtually Second interview conducted onsite in Fairport, NY Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis CTG has supported this Fortune 500 client for more than 15 years.
