US Citizen We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support documentation efforts for a complex submarine systems environment. This role will develop and maintain technical manuals, operational procedures, installation guides, and training materials supporting system deployment, maintenance, and sustainment activities.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain technical documentation for software, hardware, system operations, and engineering activities. Develop installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system administration guides. Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information. Document system architectures, interfaces, workflows, and operational processes. Support government deliverables and ensure compliance with documentation standards and configuration control requirements.

Requirements:

6+ years of technical writing experience supporting government, defense, or other highly technical environments. Experience independently developing and maintaining technical documentation. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and software-related documentation. Hands-on experience with S1000D technical manuals, XML, and HTML-based authoring tools. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office applications. Active Secret Clearance or ability to gain one

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio, or similar diagramming tools. Familiarity with U.S. Navy submarine systems and military technical publication standards.
