ASR Health Benefits is a rapidly growing third-party administrator of health plans, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, Section 125, and consumer-directed health plans. We administer these health plans through dedicated client service teams, consisting of staff members from each department at ASR who work together to meet our clients needs. We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our growing team. This position follows a remote work schedule, allowing employees to work from home.Position Overview:
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining clear and accurate documentation for client health benefit plans. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and serves as a key resource for documentation-related inquiries.Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Write plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions with custom plan design language for client health benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, STD) in accordance with ASR standards Write custom plan amendments as required by law or requested by clients in accordance with ASR standards Write custom benefit summaries and benefit briefs in accordance with ASR standards, and Summaries of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs) in compliance with ACA requirements Produce custom contract cards for internal distribution Participate in training related to documentation standards and regulatory updates Compliance Support clients with federal and state legislation related to health plans, under supervisor guidance Attend required compliance training Customer Service Assist clients and agents with questions related to plan language Act as a resource for documentation and compliance inquiries from clients, agents, members, providers, and staff Direct Department Assistant on tasks related to client documents and amendments Train new staff members Perform other duties as assignedPreferred Skills and Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly language Excellent organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently Experience supervising or directing support staff Knowledge of medical and legal terminology Agreement that your likeness (e.g., name, image, voice, or video) may be used in internal and external materials with customers or prospective customersPreferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in English or a related field Technical writing experience (ASR is willing to train the right candidate) Exposure to health policyWork Environment:
