Proposal Writer & Business Development Specialist Location:
Alpharetta, GA (In-Office)
Salary:
$50,000-$60,000 +

Full-Time Important This is a fully in-office position located in Alpharetta, GA. This is not a remote or hybrid role. Candidates must be comfortable reporting to the office daily, Monday through Friday. About the Role American Facility Services (AFS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Proposal Writer & Business Development Specialist to support proposal development, business growth initiatives, and client engagement. This client-facing role is responsible for managing proposals from initial solicitation through submission, supporting contract opportunities, building client relationships, and helping drive new business. Responsibilities Lead proposal efforts from receipt to submission and follow-up. Prepare and edit RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses. Review solicitation documents and ensure compliance. Research and track business opportunities. Build relationships with clients, partners, and procurement officials. Participate in client meetings and business development activities. Review contracts and coordinate related documentation. Create proposal content, presentations, and supporting materials. Conduct market and competitor research. Manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in writing proposal content and coordinating the internal and external flow of proposal inputs and outputs (RFPs, addenda, clarifications, confirmations, queries, emails). Ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple competing priorities for demanding internal and external stakeholders. Excellent computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Communications, Journalism, or English is preferred. Execution of accurate, proofed proposal content for messaging and compliance. Desire for continuous learning and growth. Ability to build rapport and provide consultative insight and recommendations on proposal content. Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices. Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization. Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Attend regular staff meetings and trainings. Strong communication skills, highly-skilled in typing, writing, grammar, punctuation, and oral communication (which means speaking clearly and correctly on the telephone) Good judgment, punctuality, initiative, a good work ethic and time management skills Interpersonal skills and client relations are of paramount importance Must be highly organized and able to keep track of multiple projects.
