Technical Editor will support the development, review, and maintenance of Safety Basis documentation for nuclear and high-hazard facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing complex technical content, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers, safety analysts, and subject matter experts. This role is critical to ensuring Safety Basis documents are clear, consistent, compliant, and ready for internal and external review. Key responsibilities include: Editing, formatting, and quality-checking Safety Basis documents, including but not limited to Documented Safety Analyses (DSAs), Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), Hazard Analyses and supporting calculations, Safety Evaluation Reports and change packages. Ensuring documents comply with applicable DOE orders, standards, and site-specific requirements (e.g., DOEO 420.1, 10 CFR 830
); improve clarity, organization, and consistency of highly technical material without altering technical intent; apply and enforce document standards, templates, style guides, and configuration management requirements; coordinate with authors, engineers, and nuclear safety analysts to resolve comments and improve document quality; support internal reviews, audits, and readiness activities by preparing documents for approval and submittal; and track revisions, manage comment resolution, and maintain version control.Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or master's degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a physical/social science and 6-8 years of experience. Demonstrated experience editing technical or regulatory documentation; strong command of grammar, technical style, and document structure; experience working with SMEs in highly regulated environments; and proficiency with Microsoft Word and document control tools.Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience editing DOE Safety Basis documents (DSA, TSR, USQ-related documentation); familiarity with configuration management and formal document review processes.Desired Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail; ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines simultaneously; strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfort working in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment; and ability to quickly learn complex technical subject matter.Other Job Requirements:

The Work Control Planner 2 will be supporting the three program leads for RAMP, CHAMP, and LAMP and shall be responsible for developing and/or reviewing work packages (IWDs), including time, material, labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety, and testing requirements for maintenance, construction, or modification of work activities. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, or roofing equipment, policies, and procedures. May also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. The Asset Management Programs (AMPs) are a multidisciplinary group providing services to LANL with a design-build model. With this model, the vendor works in three phases: Assessment, Design, and construction/repair/replacement of major building systems that are common across the NNSA enterprise (e.g., roofs, electrical, cooling & heating). The AMP group uses Integrated Work Management to plan, schedule, and perform work in a safe and secure manner. Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures, and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.Qualifications:
Requires a bachelors degree and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience without a degree. Ability to climb ladders, be on roofs, walk on different terrains, and construction sites. Planning experience (technical step writing). Construction experience.Software required:

Demonstrated ability balancing timecards and perform arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Demonstrated awareness of importance of confidentiality and requirements surrounding personally identifiable information (PII). Problem Solving Experience and proven ability in researching, troubleshooting, and resolving time and effort issues. Experience gathering, analyzing data, and summarizing results.
