Overview:
TECHNICAL WRITER/EDITOR
(VOPS-2026-25849): Bowhead is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support a fast-paced government program. This position involves researching, writing, editing, and proofreading technical documentation while coordinating document reviews, approvals, signatures, and final distribution to meet customer deadlines. The ideal candidate is flexible, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and is available to work beyond core business hours—including evenings and nights—as mission requirements dictate.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment where turnaround times can change quickly. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow documents through the complete review and approval process are essential.
Responsibilities:
Research, write, edit, and proofread technical documentation. Ensure documents comply with government and editorial standards. Coordinate document routing, approvals, signatures, and distribution. Track multiple deliverables and meet time-sensitive deadlines. Communicate effectively with program personnel and stakeholders. Maintain document trackers and support documentation processes.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of professional experience. Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams). DoD or government documentation experience preferred. Active Secret security clearance is preferred; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
Position Expectations:
Core collaboration hours are 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; however, this position regularly requires work during evenings and nights to meet customer deadlines (including up to 3-4 evenings/nights per week). Candidates must be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to manage short-turnaround, deadline-driven deliverables. Works effectively as part of a team, adapting to changing customer requirements, and managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtian and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. #LI-GC1
