Job Requirements Quantico, VA Top Secret/SCI Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Apply Job Type Part-time Description The Technical Writer supports JCITA (Joint Counterintelligence Training Activity) or related DoD/IC agencies by developing, editing, and maintaining complex documents related to counterintelligence policies, identity management, and operational security (OPSEC). They are often considered subject matter experts (SMEs) in translating technical intelligence and operational procedures into actionable, compliant policy documents.
Key Responsibilities Policy & Document Creation:
Write, review, and revise technical documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and deliverables related to CI, identity management, and risk management.
SME Collaboration:
Interface with Intelligence Community (IC) professionals and project staff to translate complex concepts into clear, concise documentation.
Compliance & Research:
Research and review laws and regulations, ensuring all documentation adheres to DoD policy and compliance standards.
Training Materials:
Develop training aids, lesson plans, and instructional materials for advanced CI courses.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (preferred)
Experience:
3 years technical writing/editing of complex subject matter.
Education:
Associate's degree.
JCITA Specific Training:
Often requires completion of specific JCITA courses (e.g., Plans and Assessment Course (PAC), Advanced Technicians Course (ATC), or CI Operations Qualification Course).
Military/Agency Background:
Prior experience as a military veteran or IC Agency counterpart is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
Prior CI, HUMINT, or DoD training-support writing.
Education:
Bachelor's degree.
JCITA Specific Training:
Experience with JCITA or similar advanced CI curricula Required Technical & Behavioral Skills Proficiency in
MS Office Suite:
Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Policy Writing Expertise:
Deep knowledge of DoD policy and identity management. Attention to
Detail:
Meticulous approach to reviewing and editing secure documents.
Communication:
Excellent written and interpersonal skills for dealing with senior-level personnel.
