Job Description

Technical WriterDescriptionPremier Pump & Power is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered pump solutions. We specialize in large, trailer-mounted industrial and wastewater packages, delivering best-in-class performance, serviceability and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers nationwide from our headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and state-of-the-art plant in Houston, Texas.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to organize our company documents and artifacts into a digital knowledge management hub Confluence and establish knowledge taxonomies and hierarchies.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Vancouver, Washington. You will report to the Vice President of Operations.

ResponsibilitiesBuild and manage a centralized knowledge management hub (e.g. Confluence) to store and access company informationCreate, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), best practices, and training materialsDevelop and implement knowledge taxonomies, hierarchies, and tagging systems for effective organization and searchabilityCollaborate with subject matter experts (e.g. Engineering, IT, HR, Operations, Sales, etc.) to document processes, workflows, and technical knowledgeEstablish guidelines for content creation, review cycles, and documentation standards to ensure consistencyTrain employees on how to access and contribute to the knowledge management systemMonitor and manage knowledge hub usage, collect feedback, and continuously improve its structure and contentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)Proven experience in knowledge management, technical writing, or documentation managementExpertise in using and administering knowledge management tools (e.g. Confluence, OneDrive, SharePoint) and documentation platformsStrong organizational skills with experience in building taxonomies, metadata structures, and content hierarchiesExcellent writing and editing skills, touch type at 80+ works per minute, with the ability to produce clear and concise documentationFamiliarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Trello) is a plusStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsSelf-starter with a proactive approach to organizing information and driving projects to completionEmployment will be conditioned upon passing a drug screen and background check.

Close vision is required for this job, specifically for reading and viewing a computer screen for extended periods. This is a sedentary office position requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk (up to 6 to 8 hours a day). The role involves continuous repetitive motion and fine manipulation of the hands and fingers for typing and operating standard office equipment. Employees are occasionally required to reach with their hands and arms, stand, and walk (typically totaling no more than 2 hours per day), and are rarely required to kneel or stoop to access file cabinets. While performing the responsibilities of this job, employees must be able to frequently communicate with others and exchange accurate information. While working in the office, employees will operate in a climate-controlled environment and tolerate quiet to moderate noise levels. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. If occasional visits to the shop floor or warehouse are required, employees may be asked to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and tolerate moderate to loud noise levels while in those specific areas.
