Union College is seeking a Visual Media Coordinator to join the Office of Communications and Marketing. This full-time, hands-on role offers the opportunity to shoot, edit and manage digital media content, primarily video, to support Union's social media channels, website, email campaigns and other communications projects.
Visual Media Coordinator Pay Status and Classification:
Non-exempt, Regular Full-time. In-Person. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

Digital Media Manager Position Purpose:
Union College is seeking a Visual Media Coordinator to join the Office of Communications and Marketing. This full-time, hands-on role offers the opportunity to shoot, edit and manage digital media content, primarily video, to support Union's social media channels, website, email campaigns and other communications projects. The ideal candidate is a curious, collaborative, social media-first thinker and self-starter who is eager to learn while taking ownership of projects, experimenting creatively and contributing to Union's digital storytelling. This is an opportunity to grow skills in video production, storytelling and digital media within a collaborative team environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Independently shoot and edit visual media content (primarily video) for Union College communications channels, including website, social media and email marketing. Coordinate and execute on-campus and off-campus shoots, including setup, lighting and audio capture. Contribute ideas for video content and storytelling in collaboration with the communications team, specifically the social media manager. Maintain and organize video and media assets, ensuring proper cataloging and archiving. Assist with photo assignments when the Visual Media Manager is unavailable. Assist in other multimedia projects that may include graphics, short animations or other digital content. Capture and maintain a library of b-roll footage to support ongoing storytelling and content needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, media production or related field. 1-2 years of professional experience in videography or multimedia production. Experience with cameras, lighting, audio equipment and editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects or similar). Portfolio or work samples demonstrating video production and editing skills required. Ability to independently manage projects, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication, organization and time-management skills. Willingness to learn, accept feedback and develop under mentorship. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to a team-oriented creative environment. Ability to lift and handle production equipment as needed.
Compensation:
The expected rate for this position is $25.50-$26.75. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
