Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Journalist/Videographer to cover local news in the Reno area. This is an on-the-ground reporting role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is comfortable live streaming from active scenes. The ideal candidate is confident on camera, organized, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines. Responsibilities Report on breaking news and local stories in Reno and surrounding communities Capture high-quality video footage in the field Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews Provide live-stream coverage from news scenes Research and assist with story development Travel within Nevada as needed for assignments Coordinate with editorial team regarding story updates and coverage plans Requirements Experience in journalism, reporting, broadcasting, or videography Comfortable with live streaming and on-camera reporting Strong communication and storytelling skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Reliable transportation to office and field assignments Ability to travel within the State of Nevada Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work independently in dynamic or high-pressure situations Equipment Professional filming equipment will be provided. Preferred Qualifications Prior live news or field reporting experience Familiarity with Reno and Northern Nevada communities Experience with digital publishing and social media platforms How to Apply Please submit your resume along with links to relevant video samples or a demo reel. Pay:
$54,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year Application Question(s): Application Instructions - Journalist/Videographer To be considered for the Journalist/Videographer position with EWU Media, please submit a short video reporting sample.
Video Requirements:
Record a 30-second to 1-minute video of yourself reporting on any topic of your choice. You may choose a news story, local event, current event, or another topic that demonstrates your reporting and on-camera communication skills.
