Roles & Responsibilities Job Title:
Part-Time Videographer & Video Editor (Aquarium Retail) Job Overview Are you passionate about visual storytelling, content creation, and maybe a little obsessed with the beauty of aquatic life? We are a premier pet fish aquarium retail shop looking for a creative, energetic Part-Time Videographer & Video Editor to join our team. In this role, you will be the visual storyteller of our brand—capturing everything from stunning rare fish arrivals and aquascaping tutorials to behind-the-scenes shop moments. You will be responsible for the entire pipeline: shooting high-quality footage on the shopfloor and editing it into thumb-stopping content for our social media channels (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook).

Location:
Canberra (main) & Havelock Key Responsibilities 1. Video Shooting & Production (On-Site) Spend time on the retail floor capturing high-quality video footage of our fish, aquariums, products, and team. Set up basic lighting, audio, and camera/mobile gear to ensure professional-grade shots (especially managing reflections on glass!). Brainstorm and direct engaging concepts, including product highlights, educational aquascaping tips, and trending audio challenges. 2. Video Editing & Post-Production Edit raw footage into fast-paced, engaging short-form videos (TikToks, Reels, Shorts) and occasional long-form content. Color corrects and grade footage to make the vibrant colors of our aquatic livestock pop. Add engaging text overlays, captions, transitions, sound effects, and trending audio. Format and optimize videos specifically for different social media platforms. 3. Marketing Collaboration Work closely with the Marketing team to align video content with upcoming promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns. Keep up with the latest social media video trends, algorithms, and editing styles to keep our brand relevant.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience in both shooting and editing video content (a strong portfolio on TikTok/ Reels/ YouTube video link is required).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and comfortable shooting with either high-end smartphones or DSLR/mirrorless cameras.
Creativity:
A keen eye for framing, pacing, and visual storytelling. Ability to make a product demo or fish care tip look exciting.
Work Style:
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work efficiently within a retail & warehouse environment.
Bonus Points:
A personal interest in fishkeeping, aquascaping, or pets is a massive plus, but not mandatory!
