YESPhilly Accelerated High School is seeking a creative, passionate, and student-centered Film, Media & Video Production Instructor to inspire the next generation of storytellers, filmmakers, and digital content creators. We serve opportunity youth ages 16-21 through a relationship-centered, trauma-informed, and competency-based educational model that prepares students for careers, postsecondary education, and lifelong success. This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop technical skills, creative confidence, and professional portfolios while learning industry-relevant media production techniques. Responsibilities Plan and teach engaging, project-based courses in film, digital media, and video production. Teach students the fundamentals of scriptwriting, storyboarding, cinematography, lighting, directing, audio recording, editing, and post-production. Instruct students using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition), DaVinci Resolve, or comparable platforms. Guide students in creating short films, documentaries, podcasts, public service announcements, social media content, and other multimedia projects. Foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and professional communication skills. Organize student showcases and portfolio presentations. Build positive relationships with students while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to expand real-world learning opportunities. Maintain student records and participate in school meetings and professional development. Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in Film, Media Production, Communications, Digital Media, Education, or a related field. Professional experience in filmmaking, television, broadcasting, digital media, photography, or video production is strongly preferred. Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Passion for mentoring young people and helping students discover their creative potential.
