PositionFull-Time Auburn Beat WriterThis position reports directly to the Publisher and will play a central role in our daily news coverage and long-term growth.

ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:

Cover Auburn football year-roundCover men's basketball and other assigned sportsAttend practices, games, press conferences, SEC Media Days, postseason events, and recruiting-related eventsDevelop and maintain trusted sources throughout Auburn athleticsBreak original news and deliver exclusive reportingWrite multiple stories daily under deadlineProduce game previews, recaps, feature stories, analysis, and enterprise reportingProduce premium subscriber-exclusive contentAssist with recruiting and transfer portal coverageGenerate story ideas independentlyContribute to newsletters and breaking news alertsParticipate in podcasts, YouTube videos, and live broadcastsEngage professionally with subscribers on premium message boardsHelp grow our audience through outstanding journalism and innovative storytellingQualificationsIdeal candidates will possess:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)At least three years of experience covering college athletics or professional sportsExcellent AP-style writing and editing skillsAbility to write quickly without sacrificing accuracyExperience cultivating sources and breaking newsStrong interviewing and reporting skillsOutstanding organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple deadlines simultaneouslyWillingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel during football seasonComfortable appearing on podcasts, live streams, and video productionsExperience using WordPress or similar content management systemsStrong understanding of social media publishing and audience engagementPreferred qualifications:

Experience covering recruiting or college footballPhotography and basic video editing skillsFamiliarity with SEO best practices and digital audience growthWhat We're Looking ForWe're searching for someone who:
