The selected individual will have a good working knowledge of building materials, systems, and techniques . In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Lead the development and execution of specifications for multiple projects Collaborate with the project manager and design team to ensure thorough and accurate preparation of the project manual Interpret drawings and related project information to develop and edit project-specific specifications Apply a thorough understanding of design requirements to translate project needs into clear, accurate specifications Serve as a technical resource on products, materials, and standards, and maintain institutional knowledge. Maintain current knowledge of industry reference standards and resources Other duties as assigned Competencies Strong communication skills, service-oriented mindset, and consistent initiative with follow-through Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently Proficient with Microsoft Word Experienced with SpecLink software Experienced with SpecsIntact software Qualifications / Prior Experience Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or related field 5 years of experience in specification writing Experience writing specifications for federal projects CSE Certification - CDT or CCS Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
