Job Description

Blog Writer Hello San Diego San Diego, CA Job Details Internship 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Community engagement Filming Community management Digital asset management Newsletters (communication methods) B2B marketing Full Job Description About us Hello San Diego is a local lifestyle and discovery brand — reels, guides, events, and stories about the best of the city. We share a team with Routt Home Team (real estate) and Hello Scale (a local marketing agency), so as an intern you'll get your hands on all three: consumer content, real-estate education, and B2B marketing. We're a small, fast-moving crew that ships a lot of work every week, and we take one thing seriously above everything else: our content sounds like a real San Diegan, never like a corporate account or a robot. You'd be joining as a semester intern, learning a real, portfolio-ready skill from people who do this for a living — not fetching coffee. The basics (all roles)

Where:
In-office in San Diego. This is a hands-on, in-person internship — you'll be out in the city and working alongside the team.
Hours:

This is an unpaid internship for academic credit. You'll need to be eligible to receive course credit from your school; we're happy to work with your program and its paperwork. You'll leave with: A real portfolio of published work, a testimonial, and a genuine skill you can point to in your next interview. Blog Writer / Editor You write like a real person, and you actually enjoy the research part. You'll own the words that live forever — the search-friendly articles and guides that pull steady traffic to our sites long after they're published, plus the weekly newsletter that lands in hundreds of local inboxes. What you'll do Develop and edit SEO articles for the Hello San Diego and Hello Scale websites, with evergreen URLs, drafting in Docs for review. Draft our weekly newsletter and run the test send. Add images and further optimize articles through our website backend Fact-check every figure, and add the "not financial advice" disclaimer on any money topic. What you'll walk away with Real SEO writing and editing experience in a defined brand voice. Hands-on practice formatting and publishing web content in a CMS. You might be a fit if You're a strong, clear writer who can sound human and local, not stiff or generic. You're detail-oriented — you catch the wrong date, the unverified number, the clunky sentence. You're curious about San Diego and happy to dig for the accurate answer.
