Certification Engineer Whelen Engineering, Inc Chester, CT Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Qualifications English Managing projects Full Job Description Description The Certification Engineer is responsible for preparing certification deliverables and providing guidance, support and expertise related to certification activities. This role coordinates certification efforts cross-functionally, ensuring alignment with internal procedures and regulatory standards. The position operates with a high degree of independence while collaborating with multiple departments to support timely, compliant certification outcomes. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, execute, and finalize all protocols and deliverables associated with certification work Company focal for RTCA (DO-160), ASTM, SAE, and MIL STD test standards Coordinate all certification activities through proactive communication with impacted departments and personnel Provide guidance, as needed, to company personnel on FAA design and production approval holder requirements Oversee certification processes and documentation to ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations Review and evaluate certification procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of certification deliverables Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and quality objectives Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on certification-related requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) 4-7 years of relevant experience in certification, engineering, quality, or a related function Strong understanding of certification processes, documentation practices, and compliance standards Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage moderately complex projects independently while contributing to team-based initiatives Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities All Employees Shall Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties. This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as the majority of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.
