Job Description

Maximus is seeking a Sr Specialist
  • Technical Writing Computer Professional to support the OPTN program.
This position is contingent upon Maximus receiving the OPTN contract award, with an anticipated award decision in early July. In this role, you will lead documentation and content development efforts, partnering with project teams and subject matter experts to create, review, and maintain program artifacts, training materials, user guides, presentations, and customer communications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical writing, content management, and stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly materials. This role is critical to ensuring consistent, high-quality documentation, supporting knowledge management initiatives, and driving effective communication across the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead teams of subject matter experts and coordinate with the Project Leads to create program artifacts.
  • Work with Program Executive and Project Management Office (PMO) to get documents reviewed.
  • Maintain responsibility for writing and editing documentation including the creation of a program style guide, training materials, user manuals, presentations and other artifacts, as necessary.
  • Gather, analyze and compose program information and conduct research and ensure the use of proper terminology.
  • Translate technical information into clear, readable documents for technical and business users.
  • Develop materials and train staff on the writing style and customer communications.
  • Improve editorial and visual standards for documents and recommend new designs, layouts and procedures, as needed.
  • Support the program administrative team with office management functions and staff support.
Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze escalation queues, Help Desk Log, call logging queues and reports in order to make decisions about new contact reasons and to address content gaps/discrepancies.
  • Content/Support Materials development/production.
  • Work with internal teams to develop content for the end-user and manage feedback as needed.
  • Assist with the coordination and review process for updates, monitor deadlines, and maintain contact with reviewers throughout the Standard Operating Process.
  • Correspond with SMEs during the revision process, make recommendations and offer guidance when implementing feedback, and adhere to editorial standards for length and readability.
  • Monitor deadlines, maintain contact with feedback submitters, and answer inquiries pertaining to content and location of knowledge materials through e-mail and telephone communications
  • Maintain expertise in health policy knowledge by staying current with policies and regulations.
  • Develop surveys to better understand content inaccuracies and procedural needs/documentation for Call Center.
  • Gather and analyze requirements.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Minimum Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
