Job Description

Design Engineer The Design Engineer will apply engineering principles and technical knowledge to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical systems and components. This role involves working with CAD tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to product performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Responsibilities Apply engineering principles to analyze data and develop CAD models to support and optimize design solutions. Design, document, build, and test mechanical solutions using CAD tools for assigned products or applications. Use SolidWorks, PDMWorks, ECN tools, and related design systems to create and revise parts, assemblies, and prototypes. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to meet project goals, timelines, and performance metrics. Test and evaluate design changes to improve machine performance, reliability, and serviceability. Support engineering projects by building strong working relationships and gaining knowledge across engineering functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience. Ability to identify and troubleshoot root causes of manufactured or purchased component failures. Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as strength of materials, durability, serviceability, statistics, and basic systems (mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical). Ability to create robust, repeatable designs and identify design risks and improvements early in the development process. Hands-on ability to operate basic shop and assembly tools, including hand tools, drill press, lathe, band saw, and power tools. Strong time-management skills with the ability to support multiple priorities and respond effectively to production or project issues. Understanding of material selection, fatigue strength, and manufacturability to support sound engineering decisions. Ability to support testing activities, including developing test plans, assisting during execution, and reviewing test results. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piedmont, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
