To Be Determined Job Description The Early Childhood Evaluation Team Lead and Developmental Preschool Teacher of Record provides leadership and coordination for early childhood special education evaluations while serving as the Teacher of Record for developmental preschool students. This position supports children ages 3-5 with developmental delays or disabilities by leading multidisciplinary evaluations, collaborating with families and service providers, and ensuring high-quality instruction and compliance with state and federal special education regulations. This dual-role position requires strong leadership, collaboration, instructional expertise, and knowledge of early childhood special education assessment and programming. Early Childhood Evaluation Team Lead Responsibilities Coordinate and lead early childhood special education evaluation processes for preschool-aged children. Schedule and facilitate multidisciplinary evaluation meetings. Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, and related service providers. Ensure compliance with timelines and procedures under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Article 7. Review referral information and determine evaluation needs. Lead eligibility determination meetings and support teams in making data-based decisions. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to evaluations and eligibility. Serve as a liaison between families, community agencies, and school personnel. Support transition planning from First Steps services to preschool special education. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members regarding evaluation practices and compliance. Developmental Preschool Teacher of Record Responsibilities Serve as the Teacher of Record for developmental preschool students. Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned to student needs. Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in communication, adaptive skills, motor skills, and early academic readiness. Monitor student progress and maintain progress monitoring documentation. Collaborate with related service providers to ensure integrated supports. Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Utilize evidence-based instructional practices and interventions. Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and classroom activities. Maintain compliance with state reporting requirements and student records. Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and collaborative planning. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education Valid teaching license/certification in Early Childhood Special Education or Preschool Special Education. Experience working with preschool-aged children with developmental delays or disabilities. Knowledge of early childhood development, assessment practices, and special education law. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and supervision. Manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment. Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and respond to classroom situations. Ability to move quickly in response to student safety needs. Ability to perform light physical activities—such as bending, kneeling, and reaching—as required in a classroom setting, as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
