Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing? Shape the future by providing inclusive educational services across Southern Oregon for the 2026-2027 school year. Two full-time contract opportunities are available for dedicated educators looking to make a difference in K-12 settings, with flexibility for in-person or virtual (VOCO) instruction. You'll be working with students in diverse, beautiful regions, including Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, and Klamath counties. Your experience as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will enable you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and school staff, empower students to reach their fullest potential, and foster accessible learning environments. This role is suited for energetic professionals motivated to impact young lives and adapt to varying classroom or remote settings.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement or equivalent credentials Previous experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs, settings, and modalities (in-person or virtual) Comfort using educational technology for instruction and documentation Responsibilities include: Providing direct and consultative instructional support for students with hearing loss Collaborating with general education and special education teams to develop and implement IEPs Monitoring student progress and maintaining thorough records Facilitating accessible communication, language development, and academic growth Engaging with families and school partners to advocate for student success Take this chance to have a meaningful impact—advance your career while empowering students in a supportive, collaborative environment.
