Job Description

Title:
Diagnostic Electrician (Copper Mining Operations)
Location:
Morenci, AZ 85540 (2 Hours Northeast of Tucson, AZ)
Hourly Pay:
$35 - $55/Hour + Overtime (25% OT available)Founded in 1912, this organization is one of the world's largest producers of copper, employing roughly 25,000 people worldwide and approximately 3,300 employees and contractors at the Morenci, Arizona mining complex. The company operates large-scale open-pit copper mines, concentrators, leach systems, SX plants, and EW tank houses that support global copper and molybdenum production. The Morenci location is responsible for mining, crushing, conveying, leaching, and processing ore at one of the highest-volume copper operations in North America, serving industrial, manufacturing, and global metals markets. The Diagnostic Electrician will support mine operations by performing advanced electrical and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization to ensure safe and continuous production.

What You Will Be DoingPerform removal, repair, installation, and advanced troubleshooting of electrical components, power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, motors, motor controls, and process control equipment across mine operationsConduct preventative maintenance and diagnostics on AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, instrumentation devices, transmitters, transducers, weigh scales, and low/medium voltage systemsAnalyze electrical systems, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and operational uptimeComplete installations and renovations in compliance with regulatory standards, site procedures, and electrical codes while maintaining accurate documentation of work performedFollow all safety procedures, SOPs, and environmental guidelines while mentoring or training other electrical personnel as neededWhat You Need for This PositionExperience performing industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance in mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar environmentsStrong ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, drives, PLCs, control systems, and instrumentation using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic toolsProficiency working with low and medium voltage equipment, AC/DC controls, process control systems, and electrical test equipmentAbility to work safely in a 24/7 mining environment with rotating shifts, exposure to heat, moving equipment, confined spaces, and elevated work areasEffective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, complete documentation, and work independently with minimal supervisionWhat's In It for YouFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k w/ matching) and more!
