Job Description
Pay Rate:
$15.15 Position Description Assists the Activity Programs Specialist in planning and implementing youth recreation and fitness programs. Provides instruction and assistance in specialized programs, including Pee Wee Sports, Youth Soccer, Rock Climbing, and special events. Required to perform physical duties as required for programs as necessary. Essential Job Functions may include the following or other duties as assigned: Engage children and young adults into conversation to determine their needs and interests Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of children in a sports program by providing close supervision of all activities. Introduce children to the basic fundamental concepts of different games - basketball, soccer, and Rock Climbing. Assist the Lead Instructor with youth sport activities. Prepare the class format for each youth sports session. Provide sports instruction, i.e., perform drills and demos pertaining to different sports. Evaluate equipment and ensure safety of participants. Set-up and break down of equipment. Evaluate program and implement new opportunities. Track participant attendance. Provide guidance to youth. Actively participate in all training sessions and designated meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Assist others as requested or assigned. Preferred experience Refereeing Basketball, Soccer, and Rock Climbing. Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients and vendors. Must be able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Must be able to follow directions completely, accurately and consistently. Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite. Able to successfully complete Reference Check, Background Check, and Drug Screen. Lift/Carry/Move/Push/Pull 21-50lbs. Sit Stand for entire shift Bend Reach above shoulders/head Kneel Stoop Twist/Turn Repetitive Hand/Wrist motion Walk on slippery surfaces Environment Indoor and outdoor work environment.
