Job Posting Title Die Setter Job Description Summary Performs the manufacturing responsibilities detailed below for the area assigned.
Job Description:
Environment/Safety Requirements- Understand Safety Programs
- Lockout/tag out
- Confined space
- Work area organization
- Work in a safe manner at all times and complies with 5S initiatives
- Provides support to manufacturing by participating in problem solving and continuous improvement projects to enhance quality and reduce scrap
- May initiate quality alerts to communicate changes in control plans, process instructions or acceptance standards
- Functional understanding of Statistical Processing a) Assist SPC Supervisor in auditing X and R charts b) Training operators in SPC c) Know and understand which control dimensions, weight, etc., represent statistical control for the part being molded d) Coordinates Prototype, tool layout, and PPAP activities and ensures customer requirements are secure
- Sets the example to maintain the
Manufacturing Quality Plan:
a) Process FMEA, in conjunction with the Engineering b) Control Plans / Reaction Plans c) Process Sheets, Work Instructions, Standardized work and JSA's w/ Inspection Instructions d) Other system or process documentation to assure quality- Ensures necessary gauging and documentation are in place to support the control plan
- Assists in experimental activity related to product/process variables
- Monitors on-going product quality and processing by maintaining daily contact with manufacturing (i.e. engineers, supervisors, associates, other team members, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of the internal customer
- Thorough understanding of all press functions (set up, operation, maintenance, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of mix changes, cleaning, cut ups and weight adjustments
- Start up, shut down, monitors and adjusts delube process according to control plan
- Understands, reviews, and assesses the requirements to achieve department measurables
- Provides support and training to facilitate a safe manufacturing environment
- Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Education High School Diploma or GED certification Die Setter training class or equivalent work experience in production (preferred)
