Diesel Mechanic

Overview Looking for a reliable diesel mechanic in Piqua. Hours would be Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm and most Saturdays. Pay is based on experience. Please call (937)606-2156. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and service manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, alignments, and general vehicle upkeep to prevent breakdowns. Fabricate and modify parts using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills for troubleshooting issues on farm machinery and industrial equipment while ensuring safety standards are met. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of work orders. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and electrical systems troubleshooting. Familiarity with OEM parts specifications and the use of schematics for complex repairs. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery is highly desirable. Skilled in welding, fabrication, HVAC systems for vehicles or machinery is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
