  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, supporting our operations across various industries. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong mechanical background with a passion for keeping equipment in top condition. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including farm equipment, industrial tools, and heavy vehicles. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Repair and replace transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, hydraulics, and steering components to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Maintain and service vehicle systems including HVAC units, electrical wiring, tires, alignments, and powertrain components to ensure compliance with safety standards. Inspect equipment for wear and tear; perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to all safety protocols. Document all repair activities thoroughly; interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate troubleshooting. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and industrial equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM parts standards, and farm machinery systems. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of assembling complex components. Proficient in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for diagnostics and repairs. Experience with automotive diagnostics tools; familiar with vehicle maintenance procedures including transmission repairs and air brake systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers safely and efficiently. Knowledge of hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, tire service, alignment procedures, and power tools usage. Excellent customer service skills; able to communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding repair status or technical issues. Capable of heavy lifting; physically fit to handle demanding tasks involving lifting or moving heavy machinery parts.
