Job Description
Position Overview GATOR Transportation & Energy Services is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of pressure washers, pickup trucks, hotshot trucks, semi-trucks, pumps, and hydrovacs . This role is critical in keeping our fleet operational and ensuring reliability in the field.
Reports to:
Service Manager Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repairs- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on pressure washers, pickup trucks, hotshot trucks, semi-trucks, pumps, and hydrovacs. Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and system checks to minimize downtime. Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components, including those on hydrovacs and pumps. Engine & Transmission Work
- Perform repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, cooling systems, and exhaust systems. Electrical Systems
- Diagnose and repair wiring, lighting, battery systems, and electronic controls. Welding & Fabrication
- Handle minor welding and fabrication tasks as needed. DOT Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all maintenance and repairs align with DOT and OSHA standards . Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and scheduled maintenance. Field Repairs
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and conduct on-site repairs when necessary. Reporting
- Provide regular maintenance updates and repair reports to the Service Manager .
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
Minimum 2+ years as a mechanic, preferably in diesel repair, fleet maintenance, or industrial equipment repair . Certifications (Preferred): ASE Certification, DOT Inspection Certification, Hydrovac or Pump-specific training.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in diagnostic tools, hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and welding .Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in outdoor conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks .Driver's License:
