We are a fast-paced, high-demand welding and machinery repair shop located in West Milford, NJ. We proudly serve clients throughout the Tri-State Area and up and down the east coast and are known for our commitment to quality and reliability. We're proud to announce that BMS Welding is an Authorized Service Provider (ASP) for two of the biggest names in the material handling industry: Sennebogen and LEFORT America . As our business grows, we're looking to add experienced Heavy Equipment and Diesel Mechanics to our team. We offer hands-on factory training for Sennebogen repairs and maintenance at their head office in Stanley, NC. We're currently seeking motivated and skilled individuals to join our growing team. If you have hands-on experience with utility trucks, heavy equipment, or hydraulic systems , we want to hear from you! Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs in a timely manner. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including cranes, tractors, and trailers. Ability to effectively and accurately inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Provide routine and comprehensive maintenance for a variety of material handling machinery. Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged/worn parts on a variety of utility trucks and equipment such as bucket trucks, diggers and hydraulic systems. Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs. Submit all work and repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs are accurate. Experience with related computer diagnostic equipment and software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues. Ability to read service and repair manuals. Ability to effectively and accurately inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Maintain equipment service records. Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks on-site at customers' locations. Test mechanical equipment after repair or assembly to guarantee proper performance and compliance with the manufacturers' specifications. Experience Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Welding experience is not required but is a plus. Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50+lbs Ability to work in all weather conditions. CDL not required but is a plus. Workers must be punctual and reliable. Must provide your own tools. Forklift and heavy equipment experience Hydraulic and mechanical experience. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes and tractor-trailers. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues.
