In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, industrial equipment, and construction machinery. This position offers the flexibility of contracting while providing opportunities to work on diverse projects that challenge your mechanical expertise. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our clients' operational needs with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, fluid checks , and shocks & struts replacements to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools and welding techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and electronic controls on machinery. Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades. Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as OSHA regulations and industry best practices for vehicle maintenance and industrial equipment repair. Maintain detailed service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, and inspection results for each piece of equipment serviced. Requirements Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools for assembly or repair tasks. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during maintenance or installation procedures. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, air brake systems, tire service procedures, HVAC systems in vehicles/equipment, and alignment processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair, vehicle maintenance, or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory.
