Job Description

Overview Huntwood is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair service fora variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diesel engine repair, heavy equipment maintenance and automotive diagnostics, ensuring optimal performance and safety across our fleet. This role offers an opportunity to with with diverse machinery from farm equipment, industrial tools, and commercial vehicles. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostic and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspension, brakes and air brake systems Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding and soldering techniques. Troubleshoot electrical systems utilizing schematics and OEM specifications Operate forklifts and tractor trailers for testing and repair purposes Assist with assembly, disassembly and installation of mechanical parts on various machinery Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used; ensured all work complies with safety standards Collaborate with service techs to diagnose engine, transmission, hydraulics, electronics or mechanical failures
Skills:
Proven experience in industrial equipment repair with a strong background in diesel engine diagnostics Knowledge of OEM, parts standards and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of heavy lifting when neccessary Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment and vechicle maintenance tools. Experience working with automotive repair including brakes and tires Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension and vehicle electronics Ability to read technical manuals and schematics Strong problem solving skills Excellent customer service skills
