Diesel Mechanic (Industrial Cleaning Fleet)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles and equipment used in industrial cleaning operations. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge across multiple vehicle types, including vacuum trucks, tankers, roll-off trucks, trailers, and standard passenger vehicles. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Duties:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet, including: Vacuum trucks Roll-off trucks Tank trucks 18-wheelers (tractor-trailers) Pickup trucks and standard vehicles Trailers and other industrial cleaning equipment Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), inspections, and routine servicing Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Ensure all vehicles meet DOT and safety compliance standards Conduct pre- and post-repair testing to ensure equipment reliability Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and repair documentation Coordinate with operations and management to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed (on-call support) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a mechanic working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Experience with industrial or specialized equipment (vacuum trucks, tankers, etc.) highly preferred Ability to diagnose issues efficiently and perform repairs with minimal supervision Familiarity with DOT inspections and compliance requirements Ability to perform physically demanding work Must pass a thorough background check and drug testing .
