Job Description

Join our team! Lee Electrical Construction is looking to hire a Road Mechanics in SC and VA for repairs and required preventive maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, trucks and other heavy equipment in our fleet. You will be responsible for roadside diagnosing and repair. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this position is to service, repair, and maintain the Company's vehicles and heavy equipment at the home office and remote locations. Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel power systems on a variety of vehicles. Preventive maintenance services on earth-moving equipment, aerial lift towers (Altec, Terex, TelElect), medium/heavy trucks and other construction equipment. Test equipment following repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with operating specifications Repair and replace damaged or worn parts Use diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices to determine required malfunctions and necessary repairs Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing construction equipment and trucks. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, electronic controls, and computer based diagnostic systems Must have of a valid CDL, meet DOT requirements, and maintain driving record compliant with MVR policy guidelines Ability to perform repairs and maintenance in the field and shop settings Must be able to read, interpret, and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics along with service manuals to help diagnose issues to be able to make needed repairs Must have own mechanic's tools (basic hand and air tools) Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, crawl in tight or confined spaces and push/pull Requirements Required to work in extreme and adverse weather conditions often. Exposure to greases, lubricants, diesel exhausts and other chemicals found in the maintenance environment. Required to climb upon and under equipment. Frequently required to sit, walk, stand or drive. Frequently use hands and fingers to touch objects, tools, controls. Noise levels may be extreme at times. Work schedule will be variable and may be adjusted to suit business needs. Extended work hours required occasionally. May be required to work alone and after dark.
