Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Service Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment, farm machinery, and industrial vehicles. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. You will apply your mechanical expertise to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure equipment operates at peak performance. Duties Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and transmission issues on diesel engines and heavy equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and other industrial components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or assemble machinery parts. Service a variety of equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles ensuring optimal safety and performance standards. Execute tire services such as mounting, balancing, and replacing tires on large vehicles; conduct wheel alignments for proper vehicle operation. Maintain detailed service records and complete inspection reports; interpret schematics for precise repairs. Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment; perform welding and fabrication work as needed for custom repairs or modifications. Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair along with automotive diagnostics and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Familiarity with schematics interpretation for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as brake repair, suspension alignment, shocks & struts replacement, HVAC servicing, and tire service. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in welding, soldering, hydraulic systems repair, and industrial equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
