Job Description
DTA LP is seeking a full-time diesel mechanic. The fleet is primarily comprised of late model Peterbilts. Equipment safety and reliability is very important to the Company. The company provides most of the larger sized tooling and a tool allowance, but the candidate must provide a basic set of hand tools. The successful candidate must have a valid PA Driver's License and be capable of passing a drug test.

Paid Vacation Tool Allowance Company Uniforms Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance 401(k) Plan Summary of essential job functions: This person must provide his/her own tools Prepare parts and equipment for storage and/or use Assist with assembly and disassembly of equipment and/or components Perform preventable maintenance service and safety inspection on trucks/trailers Make mechanical repairs based on recommendations from drivers and/or personal observations Perform tire repair and changes as needed Report any defects, damages or needed repairs to supervisor May perform emergency repair tasks on the road Respond to driver concerns regarding equipment problems. Address/evaluate the problem and repair the equipment in a timely manner to get the driver back on the road. Ensure the cleanliness of the work area by picking up rags, sweeping floors, and maintaining work tools. Use all safety precautions when working with equipment including caution and good footing when climbing on equipment. Be aware of moving equipment, garage doors and building structure. Make sure that all truck beds are lowered before entering and exiting garage and be aware of the location of all co-workers. Properly document warranty parts and repairs Conduct all duties as required by direct supervisor Minimum requirements: Employee must have a valid PA Drivers License. Possess basic knowledge of the skills, techniques, and tooling used in the inspection and maintenance and repair of systems and components of equipment. The ideal candidate would have computer diagnostic experience with Paccar Davey and ESA, Cummins Insight, and Bendix Brake Systems. A CDL would be a plus.Abilities required:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs, have the ability to use both hands, stand for a long periods of time, work in small spaces and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Job Type:
