We are looking for diesel truck mechanic with a minimum 4 years' experience that are able to work on semi-trucks & trailers performing everything from services to engine work. Extensive knowledge in repair and maintenance of diesel engines

Emmett Shop Reports to: Rusty Bentz / Phil Buckley Summary Diesel truck mechanics have the skills and training necessary to perform repair and maintenance procedures on all semi-truck construction fleet. They're required to diagnose problems through reference to the vehicle's systems manuals, and by more traditional methods including visual inspections and test-driving the vehicle. They must understand and adhere to environmental and legal guidelines for workplace safety, hazardous waste disposal and other regulatory issues. Journeymen supervise the work needed by foreman, interact with customers, and maintain their own skills through manufacturers' seminars, factory bulletins and similar avenues. Primary responsibilities Work well with all co-workers and customers Verifiable work history Valid driver's license, CDL required Own your own tools Extensive Knowledge on Electrical Air system hydraulics Welding Fabrication Suspension Have heavy equipment completed as scheduled and/or for requirements Ensure heavy equipment is safe and secure Practice workplace safety Perform safety and maintenance checks on all equipment Additional Qualifications & Specialized Training requirements First Aid & CPR Fork lift Certification Osha 10 hour / Osha 30 hour Knowledge The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas knowledge of diesel truck and equipment safety knowledge of water, sewer and truck operation knowledge of operation of front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, excavators, snow blowers and other pieces of heavy equipment knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures knowledge of record keeping system knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures Skills The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills ability to operate single axle trucks in a safe and responsible manner ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner analytical and problem solving skills decision making skills ability to communicate effectively in English ability to read and write to record services and maintenance, maintain daily records stress management skills time management skills Personal Attributes The incumbent must demonstrate the following personal attributes be honest and trustworthy be respectful possess cultural awareness and sensitivity be flexible demonstrate sound work ethics deal with the public in a positive, courteous and respectful manner Granite Excavation, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
