The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and food handling, with experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital environments. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting residents' nutritional needs by preparing and serving meals, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents through attentive service and quality food preparation. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards. Serve meals to residents or patients with courtesy and professionalism, ensuring their dietary preferences and restrictions are respected. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment following proper protocols. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and assisting with food handling tasks to promote a safe environment. Follow proper food safety procedures during food handling, storage, and serving to prevent contamination or spoilage. Help manage time effectively to ensure timely meal delivery while maintaining high standards of quality. Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare team members to meet the nutritional needs of residents or patients efficiently. Qualifications Previous experience as a dietary aide or in food service within assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation practices essential for maintaining health standards. Familiarity with dietary restrictions and dietetics principles beneficial for supporting residents' nutritional plans. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate courteously with residents, staff, and visitors. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility in daily duties. Food handling certification or training in sanitation practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
