While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, converse, and listen; use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis. The employee must be able to stand and/or walk five to eight hours per day. Prepare food for patients, and others as needed, according to identified dietary requirements. Deliver food to patients in a timely fashion. Meet with consulting dietician to coordinate meal planning and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain cleanliness of food prep and storage areas. Create and place orders for food and supplies as needed. Restock refrigerators and dry food storage areas in remote locations, if applicable. Maintain adherence to regulatory agency standards as well as departmental policies and procedures. Maintain all required food service logs. Assist with medical/surgical/housekeeping supply ordering, receiving and distribution functions, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks efficiently. Adherence to time and attendance policies. Demonstrated ability to interact with co-workers as part of a mutually respectful and collaborative team. Demonstrated ability to maintain a pleasant and respectful demeanor when interacting with patients and families.
