Job Description
Dietary Aide Mountain View Health & Rehabilitation At Mountain View Health & Rehabilitation, our Dietary team does far more than prepare food — we help support the health, dignity, and daily comfort of our residents. Every meal matters, and every Dietary Aide plays a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals in a clean and caring environment. You are not just working in food service — you are helping ensure our residents are nourished, respected, and cared for every day. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required One (1) year of dietary/food service experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical setting preferred (not required) Ability to follow oral and written instructions Must be knowledgeable of food service practices and procedures Major Duties & Responsibilities Review menus prior to food preparation and prepare meals accordingly Work with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services to implement menu changes and updates Ensure all food procedures are followed according to established facility policies Complete required administrative tasks such as forms, reports, and documentation for the Director of Food Services Assist in establishing and maintaining timely food production and meal service schedules Process diet changes and new diets received from Nursing Services Prepare meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and special diet orders Ensure meals are appetizing, palatable, and properly presented Serve meals on time and in accordance with standardized portion control procedures Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate utensils and equipment Prepare bedtime snacks and substitute meals for residents who refuse offered foods Assist with special meals, events, and celebrations Maintain adequate inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing incoming food and supplies Ensure food for upcoming meals is prepared and readily available Additional Responsibilities Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times Promote and protect residents' rights and uphold a culture of compliance Follow all facility policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations Maintain food storage areas in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition Ensure all kitchen equipment, supplies, and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained Follow all safety and hygiene standards to protect residents, staff, and self Report any exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals per facility policy Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Director of Food Services Assist in routine inspections of food service areas to ensure sanitation, safety, and compliance Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting as required Must be able to cook and prepare food in large quantities Must be able to taste and smell food to ensure quality and palatability Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday with frequent interruptions Work environment includes warm kitchen conditions and occasional exposure to cold storage areas May be subject to emotional or difficult interactions with residents, family members, or staff Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions consistently Subject to call-back during emergency conditions Why Join Mountain View?
