Job Description

The ideal candidate will bring a fresh approach to senior dining, blending culinary excellence with a deep understanding of nutrition and seniors' preferences. This role combines leadership, creativity, and operational expertise to elevate our dining services to new heights.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute high-quality, appealing, and nutritious menus tailored to the needs and preferences of independent seniors. Ensure meals are prepared and presented to a professional standard that enhances the dining experience. Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate fresh ideas into menus. Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and cleanliness. Manage inventory and ordering to ensure cost-effective and high-quality food purchasing. Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring the kitchen meets or exceeds health inspection requirements. Lead, supervise, and mentor the kitchen and dining service staff, fostering a positive and professional environment. Train and develop servers and kitchen staff to provide exceptional service and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching Manage the dining services budget, including labor, food costs, and supplies. Analyze financial reports to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards. Identify opportunities to optimize operations and improve efficiency without compromising quality. Build relationships with residents to understand their dining preferences, needs, and feedback.
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or certification preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered. Experience in a culinary leadership role, ideally in a senior living community, hotel, or similar large-scale operation. Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions, and food preferences Proven experience in menu planning, budgeting, and kitchen management.
