Product Management is responsible for driving the overall user experience, feature strategies and concepts, and engagement paradigms for Disney Entertainment & ESPN's global portfolio of consumer-facing streaming and digital products - including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, ABC News, Nat Geo, Marvel, and Star Wars. We're looking for a Director of Product, Monetization to lead product strategy and execution across plans, tiering, and monetization for our streaming business. This role sits at the intersection of product, data, and business strategy, and is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth while delivering compelling value to our subscribers. This role will define our plans and tiering strategy to meet consumer needs, cater to a wide range of willingness to pay, and provide differentiated value. In addition, this role will evaluate and test new models and approaches to increase monetization. This is a highly cross-functional role that partners closely with Product, Finance, and Data Science teams.
  • What You'll Do
  • Develop the strategy for plan tiering and evolution across a global portfolio, aligning consumer needs with our business objectives.
  • Design and lead a learning agenda that deepens our understanding of consumer willingness to pay and price elasticity.
  • Develop a product strategy to effectively balance revenue tradeoffs between advertising, subscription, and paid sharing revenue.
  • Define and build product and user experience features for plans and monetization.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve ARPU, conversion, and churn
  • Develop experimentation frameworks to test tiering, pricing, promotions, and offers
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company-wide initiatives that would affect plans and pricing decisions.
  • Manage a team of Product Managers focused on tiering and monetization.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and emerging business models
  • What We're Looking For
  • 12+ years of experience working in strategy, product, consulting (or combination of the above) focused on monetization strategy.
  • In-depth experience with how companies should tier, package, and structure their commercial offerings, and proven record of prioritizing and driving large-scale monetization programs and initiatives.
  • Worked in a direct-to-consumer subscription business with global scope.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior/preferences.
  • Passion for Growth, Plans/Packaging, and/or Behavioral Economics.
  • Ability to balance customer-centric thinking with business impact
  • Excellent communication skills, with a talent for influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in an organizational structure with both vertical and horizontal teams where ownership of a capability cuts across multiple teams.

  • Familiarity with ad-supported subscription models (AVOD/hybrid tiers) The hiring range for this position in San Francsico is $227,200 - $304,700 per year.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
