Direct Care Staff

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation Provide emotional support and behavioral guidance following individual support plans Flexable hours over night and weekend Monitor residents' physical and mental health and report changes to supervisors Administer medications as trained and authorized Maintain a safe, clean, and structured living environment Support residents with community outings and recreational activities Implement behavior support plans and de-escalation techniques when needed Complete daily documentation, logs, and incident reports Follow all agency policies, state regulations, and confidentiality High school diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health conditions preferred Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm in challenging situation Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health conditions preferred Must pass FDLE Level II background screening and local background screeing Must pass all APD trainings (online) CPR/First aid certifications (or willing to obtain) Candidates should also demonstrate skills in patient safety protocols such as CPR and first aid certification. Physical ability for heavy lifting may be required depending on the resident's needs. A caring attitude combined with strong communication skills is essential for success in this role.
