Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your commitment to patient care and your ability to create a supportive environment will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve. Duties The schedule for the Supervisor is one week on and one week off. First week the supervisor reports in on Wednesday-Sunday and available for evening calls during those days and is the direct report for staff on campus. The following week is off as another supervisor steps in for that week with the exception of a mandatory 10AM Thursday Treatment Team meeting. As a Direct Support Supervisor, your responsibilities will include: Assisting with scheduling of direct care staff. Assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Providing patient observation and monitoring vital signs to ensure the health and safety of residents. Implementing care plans and assisting with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Supporting individuals in community integration and participation in social activities. Maintaining a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization tasks. Utilizing equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary. Engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function, including memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. Documenting client progress and any changes in behavior or health status while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Offer support to staff members in regard to decision making and preparation for activities such as off campus activities, Doctor visits, school...etc.
Experience Ideal candidates will possess:
Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar environments in a supervisor role. Familiarity with caregiving practices, including home health care and hospice care. Skills in cooking and meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs. Knowledge of patient/resident monitoring techniques and experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities. Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred but will be supplied if not. A background in social work or long-term care is advantageous but not required.
