Job Description

Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a truly meaningful role in the lives of the individuals we serve—offering support, encouragement, and care that helps them feel safe, valued, and empowered each day. In this role, you'll build genuine connections while supporting individuals with disabilities across a variety of settings, including long-term care, assisted living, and in their own homes. As a DSP, you'll help foster independence while providing compassionate, personalized care that honors each person's unique strengths, needs, and goals. Your presence can make a lasting difference, creating moments of joy, dignity, and growth in the lives of those you support. This is for a position that is 8 hours a day, Sunday-Saturday. We are looking for two people who would be able to fill in all the hours. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering an inclusive environment. Monitor clients' health and behavior, documenting any changes or concerns in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive skills, particularly in memory care settings. Implement individualized care plans and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support. Administer first aid as necessary and respond promptly to emergencies or health-related issues. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all equipment is properly utilized and maintained. Requirements Previous experience in long-term care, home care, or assisted living environments is preferred. Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy. Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude while working with diverse populations. Physical capability to assist clients as needed, including lifting or transferring individuals safely when required.
