Direct Support Professional

Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's . Monitor and document vital signs, patient observations, and changes in health status to ensure safety and proper care planning. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents with meal consumption when needed. Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease or dementia by implementing specialized care strategies. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Observe patient behaviors closely, report concerns promptly, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to adjust care plans accordingly. Use CPR and First Aid skills during emergencies to stabilize residents until professional help arrives. Assist with mobility tasks such as transferring residents using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely. Engage residents in social activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being within community settings. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs collection, and medication administration. Hands-on experience providing dementia or Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or working with individuals with autism or disabilities is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, patient safety protocols, and documentation procedures is essential. Experience performing light cleaning duties and meal preparation aligned with health standards is beneficial. Previous roles involving heavy lifting or the use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts are valued assets.
