Job Description

A Direct Support Professional (DSP) in an adult day habilitation setting supports adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, fostering independence, social skills, and community integration. Key responsibilities include implementing service plans, assisting with personal care/hygiene, facilitating daily activities, monitoring health, and ensuring safety.
Key Responsibilities Activity Facilitation:
Plan, lead, and encourage engagement in daily recreational, educational, and social activities to promote skill development.
Personal Care Assistance:
Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, eating, and toileting, while fostering independence.
Safety and Supervision:
Supervise individuals to ensure a safe environment, following behavior management plans and individual service plans.
Skill Training:
Teach and support daily living skills like cooking, money management, and social interaction.
Documentation:
Observe, record, and report on individual behaviors, progress toward goals, and health status.
Community Integration:
Assist and accompany individuals on community outings and during integration activities.
Transportation:
Assist with transporting clients to and from the facility or community outings. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license (often required). CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to get certified). Compassion, dependability, and patience. Ability to pass background checks
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
