Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Community and Behavioral Support! In this vital role, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges to live fulfilling, independent lives. Responsibilities Provide personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities, supporting their daily activities and promoting independence. Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive behaviors and address challenging behaviors effectively. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support. Facilitate community outings and social activities to promote community engagement and social skills development. Collect and document data related to individual progress, behavioral incidents, and service plans accurately and consistently. Support communication needs using various methods such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools when applicable. Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document administration meticulously. Collaborate with team members, families, and professionals to develop tailored care plans that meet each individual's unique needs. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health challenges preferred. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and special education principles. Excellent communication skills to effectively support individuals and coordinate with team members. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for community outings and transportation responsibilities. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support in home or community settings. Familiarity with data collection methods related to behavioral health or social work is a plus. Certification or experience in medication administration is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary. $20.00 - $26.36 per hour
