Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in residents' living areas and common spaces Support residents with social activities, community outings, and engagement opportunities to foster socialization and independence Follow all safety protocols during patient care activities, including CPR and first aid procedures when required. Must be comfortable with dogs. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, hospice care practices, and autism support methods Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with individuals experiencing cognitive or physical challenges Basic caregiving skills including cooking, cleaning, care planning, and supporting residents' personal needs.
