Positive Vision & Overall Purpose of Position Join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Learning Opportunities Quality Works! We are seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time day shift position in the Kirksville, Mo area. Our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through Support, Advocacy, and Connection to Resources.
Essential Functions:
As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with IDD as they work toward greater independence and meaningful engagement in their communities.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing direct on-the-job support and coaching to individuals with disabilities as they develop job-related skills. Serve as a positive role model by greeting individuals professionally, working as part of a team, creating a positive work environment. Plan and lead structured daily activities such as community involvement, volunteer opportunities, physical activities, life skills, and advocacy. Promoting independence and skill-building in a respectful, encouraging, and empowering manner. Completion of required daily documentation.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required with work experience, prefer 4 year degree from accredited college. Must have a current valid driver's license and be willing to obtain a Class E (Chauffeur's) license immediately upon hire. Must possess a reliable vehicle and insurance. Ability to pass all appropriate and required background screenings. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of our customers. Ability to use technology to complete required documentation. A caring and patient individual with a passion for helping others. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
