Position Summary:
As a Kitchen Program Direct Support Professional / Job Readiness Coach, you will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured kitchen and vocational setting. You will assist individuals in developing food preparation, sanitation, teamwork, communication, and workplace readiness skills while promoting independence, confidence, and inclusion. This role focuses on creating meaningful learning experiences that prepare individuals for future employment and community involvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Kitchen & Vocational Training Support:
Provide supervision, instruction, and support during kitchen-based activities including food preparation, cleaning, dishwashing, organization, inventory tasks, and safe food handling practices.
Job Readiness Skill Development:
Assist individuals in developing workplace skills such as punctuality, communication, teamwork, following directions, task completion, problem-solving, and professional behavior.
Health & Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Follow food safety and sanitation standards, monitor participant well-being, and promptly report any incidents or concerns.
Person-Centered Support:
Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs) by encouraging independence, skill growth, and participation in meaningful activities.
Community & Employment Exposure:
Assist individuals with vocational experiences, community-based learning opportunities, volunteer activities, and employment exploration when applicable.
Documentation & Communication:
Accurately document daily progress, skill development, attendance, behavioral observations, and services provided in accordance with agency standards.
Team Collaboration:
Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and community partners to ensure quality services and positive outcomes for participants.
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years old Minimum education and experience required: High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and good driving record Good written and verbal communication skills Experience in food service, kitchen environments, caregiving, vocational training, or working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial but not required Ability to model professionalism, patience, and positive workplace behaviors Pass criminal background checks Hold and retain automobile liability insurance as required by the

$15.25 - $16.75 per hour
