Part-time Job Title:
Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Department:
Community Participation Supports (CPS)
Pay:
$17/hour + Shift Differentials + $600
Sign-on Bonus Location:
State College, PA and Bellefonte, PA Schedule:
Part-Time, Weekdays 8a-5p Availability Preferred No Experience Needed (all training is paid!) Get paid to help people with disabilities live more independently. You'll help with community outings, transportation, and building real relationships.
SchedulePay Starting pay:
$17/hour $600 sign-on/stay-on bonus Additional $1/hour shift differentials for late nights, weekends, and holidays ( differentials can stack !) Opportunities to pick up extra shifts and overtime (time-and-a-half) Benefits 26 hours of paid training per year 6 premium holidays annually; time-and-a-half pay for hourly employees who work those holidays Mileage reimbursed at $0.725/mile if using personal vehicle to transport individuals CPS provides agency vehicles to staff so you don't have to drive your own car! Changes in insurance costs can be reimbursed Required Qualifications 18+ years of age High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license TB test and Physical Able to lift 50 poundsassist with physical supports such as lifting, bending, standing, etc. Preferred, but

Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A) Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare What You'll Do Help with everyday tasks (meals, routines, personal care) Support life skills and independence Spend time in the community (shopping, activities, appointments) Build real relationships and provide encouragement Create a safe, respectful environment Driving is part of the job You'll use agency vehicles to take individuals to activities Changes in insurance costs can be reimbursed
Growth Opportunities Cross-Program Experience:
Staff can explore different service areas such as residential services, community programming, employment services, or supported living to broaden their experience.
Professional Training:
We invest in our DSPs by supporting NADSP credentialing that recognize the important work they do every day. Eligible DSPs can earn an extra $1/hour per credentialed level, up to $3!

About the Role The Arc of Centre County is hiring Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide Community Participation Support (CPS) services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A). DSPs support individuals as they engage in community-based activities, build social connections, explore personal interests, and develop skills that promote greater independence and inclusion. In this role, you will help individuals participate in meaningful experiences throughout the community while building positive, supportive relationships along the way. CPS staff play an important role in promoting choice, confidence, community involvement, and personal growth. Agency vehicles are provided for community outings and activities, allowing staff to focus on creating engaging and supportive experiences for the individuals they support.
