Job description Director - Retained Executive Search Alder Bowman Directors are client facing consultants who provide retained executive search services to our clients. Externally you will engage with Board and C-suite leaders to compete for, and win new business. while leading search engagements. Internally you will partner with an internal support team providing you with administrative, marketing and operational support through the entire project lifecycle. This is to be achieved through direct engagement with C-suite and board leaders responsible for securing professional services. Director will employ a consultative and communicative approach to foster meaningful relationships that position Alder Bowman as the preferred provider of executive search services. Directors will enjoy the support of peers, consultants and associates providing strategic guidance, marketing support, administrative services, project management, research and recruiting services. With the support of the Alder Bowman team, Directors will design and implement a customized go-to-market strategy to build and strengthen relationships that result in winning consulting engagements. Responsibilities Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy tailored to your strengths and sphere of influenceClient Acquisition:
Identify and establish advisory relationships with potential clients Consultative Sales Process RFP'S and RFI responses Negotiate and secure retainer agreements Stay informed about trends and challenges affecting your client baseRelationship Management:
Maintain and strengthen client relationships Collaborate with Alder Bowman colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment between client expectations and outcomes.Reporting:
Track business development and client engagement activities. Objectives Q1 Develop and launch go-to-market strategy (Orgs., people, communication) Learn Alder Bowman processes and systems Develop relationships with the team Directly engage potential clients Identify revenue generating opportunities Objectives Q2 Secure and attend 2 or more business acquisition meetings per week Continue go-to-market activities. Win 2 or more searches before end of quarter Objectives Q3 Continuing go-to-market activities and follow-up communication 2 or more new business acquisition meetings per week Identify and capture opportunities with existing clients Win 3 or more searches before end of quarter Objectives Q4 Continuing go-to-market activities. Regularly scheduled follow-up communication 2 or more new client acquisition meetings per week Write and distribute short articles monthly Identify and capture opportunities with existing clients Win 3 or more searches before end of quarterQualifications Education:
Master's degree+ C-suite and board level advisory experience Active relationships with boards and leadership teams Engaged with professional and civic organizations Understands consultative selling and negotiating retained contracts. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to think critically and strategically Have developed and nurtured long-term relationships Integrity Cooperative and collaborative.
